Karneval der Kulturen, Berlin, 2004
Every year on pentecost weekend, Kreuzberg
celebrates the ‘Carneval of Cultures’ during which
especially Berliners of non-western origin present their
diverse cultures through dance, music and theater
performan-ces. In the adjacent market traditional food and
objects specific to different cultures are sold. All
participants are volunteers and amateurs. Everything culminates
on Sunday noon in the parade which leads through the cen-ter of
Kreuzberg.
